LEED AP Building Design + Construction (BD+C) (USBGC-USA)

24 Hrs / 24 PDU'S

LEED certification allows a building to earn points from nine basic areas. Our courses familiarize you with these areas so you can fully understand the certification process. The nine areas include: Integrative Process, Location and Transportation, Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality, Innovation, and Regional Priority. Based on these categories, a project can earn one of four LEED rating levels: LEED Certified, LEED Silver, LEED Gold, or LEED Platinum.

Objectives

About LEED Certification
LEED BD+C were created to give builders the knowledge and tools to create sustainable structures that have minimal impact on the environment while offering the same values and amenities as a traditional structure. The LEED BD+C rating system is used in new and existing construction for all kinds of construction projects, including schools, healthcare and hospitality projects, retail and distribution centers, etc. The LEED BD+C exam is designed to test the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in the design process, to encourage and support integrated design, and to streamline the certification and application process.

Exam Details

Fee Details:
  • USGBC Membership Fee: 50$
  • Exam Fee: Members: 250 $ / Non-Members: 350$

Exam Details:
  • The LEED AP BD+C exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions which you must complete in two hours.
  • The exam tests your knowledge of basic concepts, but you will be required to know some of the technical requirements
Scoring:
The exam is scored using a scaled process with scores ranging from 125 (minimum score) to 200 (maximum score).
You must achieve a minimum score of 170 to pass the exam. Unfortunately, this means you won’t know exactly how many questions you need to get right to pass the set of questions you will be asked.  Some suggest that aiming for 70% correct on practice tests is a close approximation.

Retaking:
You may make three attempts to pass the exam during your application period, which lasts for one year after the date you were approved to take the test. After an application expires, candidates are required to wait 90 days before submitting a new application to GBCI.

Credential Maintenance:
Green Associates must attend 30 hours of continuing education every 2 years. You also must pay a $50 biennial maintenance fee and agree to abide by the GBCI disciplinary policy.
